Minister Simon Harris launches IAK / MEI new Ireland Korea Alumni Network
Celebrating another milestone, the Irish Association of Korea (IAK) marked the launch of the Ireland Korea Alumni Network at the Craic House in early November. The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science, Simon Harris, was on hand to highlight the abundant opportunities and benefits for students seeking to study in Ireland. Collaborating with Marketing English in Ireland (MEI), the IAK is forging new paths to strengthen the bonds between our diasporas, turning them into thriving communities. This network will generate much-needed increased Korean interest in Ireland and provide valuable resources for those exploring the country.
Co-hosting such a significant Irish event during a special and unprecedented Team Ireland Trade Mission was a privilege for the orgnisation. The commnuity and establishment, opened and designed to authentically and accurately represent Ireland in Korea, stood as a proud Irish moment. Well done, team, on bringing it this far.

On the night, Minister Simon Harris, unveiled a fantastic scholarship opportunity for Korean students.
MEI's member schools announced the new Student Ambassador Scholarship Scheme which offers nine Korean students a unique chance to travel to Ireland in March, study English at top language schools, and immerse in Ireland's vibrant culture. The program aligns with the St. Patrick's Day Festival 2024, making it an unforgettable experience.
This is indeed a fantastic opportunity to facilitate cultural exchange and welcome new student ambassadors who can raise awareness among Korean students about the opportunities for studying in Ireland.
